The Vistonian Wedding – Complete Guide!

Are you celebrating your love with a wedding at The Vistonian? I am a wedding photographer located in Southern California and I'll be offering some tips on how to make the most out of your wedding day at this beautiful San Diego, CA venue.

What Makes a Wedding at the Vistonian so Special?

  • With it's beautiful arches and modern design elements, The Vistonian offers a unique atmosphere.
  • The venue is a blend of rustic, modern, and chic. It's a great choice for couples who are on the creative side and are looking for something a little different.
  • The Vistonian has skylights throughout, allowing light to fill he room. Good light makes such a huge impact on any space (as well as photography), so this is a huge plus.
  • With 8,200 square feet of space to use, this San Diego wedding venue is really spacious and provides a lot of possibilities.
  • San Diego is a great location to have one's wedding; there is so much to do around that area! If your family and friends are located in the area, it will be easy for them to join in on the fun. However, let's say they are situated around the Los Angeles area, San Diego is just a short drive away. This offers guests the convenience of being able to drive back to LA after the wedding OR they can choose to make a weekend out of it. In other words, the location offers the best of both worlds.
  • This venue provides a lot of parking for guests, making it really convenient.

Tips for an Amazing The Vistonian Wedding

  • Avoid standing directly under a skylight during your ceremony. While skylights let beautiful light into any space, the light tends to be more focused, and less diffused. This means if your ceremony is being held during the midday when the light is on the harsher side, the couple may receive harsher light on them (causing shadows) if they stand directly under a skylight. With this in mind, it's better to stand near a skylight, to get some of that beautiful surrounding light, just not directly underneath it.
  • For one's ceremony, I would recommend saying "I do" close the 3 arches, specifically close to the center arch. I think the arches of this property are what make it really unique, so it would be great to incorporate those design elements within one's day.
  • One of the arches can also be used as a backdrop for the suite heart table. It can be used on it's own or decorated with some greenery and/or florals.
  • If possible, consider adding string lights in the reception space; it definitely adds to that romantic atmosphere!
  • The Vistonian's price includes rental of the space. However, it doesn't include additional things like food or catering, music, florals, etc. For this reason, I recommend working with a wedding planner at this venue. He or she will handle all of the logistics and save you much time and energy.
  • The Vistonian is really close to a local park (within walking distance). Beyond taking photos at the venue, going to the park for a few photos is also an option for some added variety.
  • Since this wedding venue offers so many cute backdrops for photos, I recommend allotting enough time for photos. This will allow your photographer to get really creative!

The Vistonian Wedding Reviews

"My wife and I got married at The Vistonian in July and we LOVED the venue! The bridal suite was perfect for the bride and all the bridesmaids to get ready in so that was an awesome perk of the venue. All of our guests loved the beer and wine selections and there were a ton of great spots for photos in the venue and a ton of great spots around the outside of the venue as well. Overall it was an absolutely perfect day at a perfect venue."

"The Vistonian is EVERYTHING! The most beautiful, perfect and creative space. We fell in love with this venue right away and are so obsessed with our wedding day. As two graphic designers, my husband and I wanted a place that had beautiful bones but still allowed us to add our own personal, creative touch to it. This is the place. Alyssa and the Booze Bros team are rockstars, and we couldn't be happier with this venue and the magical day it allowed us to have!!!"

"We were on a budget and did all of our own decor and set up. The layout of the venue is easy to work with and the decor gives you such a good base to work with. The bar has an amazing selection as well. Even our friends and family that don’t drink beer found multiple drinks selections that were amazing. Our wedding was everything we hoped for and the pictures came back beautiful!!! 10/10 would recommend!"
